Chapter 25: The Little Villain Just Wants to Live Until the End

Chapter 25: The Phone That Was Ruthlessly Abandoned

The moon was bright, the stars were sparse, and the cold wind howled.

But the chill outside had no effect on the lively atmosphere inside the bar.

The lead singer was performing passionately onstage. Glow sticks of all colors swayed and flickered, while applause, cheers, and whistles from the patrons rang out from time to time.

Lin Cheng sat in a relatively quiet corner, expressionlessly staring at the person across from him.

Opposite him sat an elegant man wearing gold-rimmed square glasses.

The man kept his head lowered, his fingers deftly swiping across his phone screen. Every now and then, he would suddenly laugh.

This scene had already continued for twenty minutes. Ever since they entered the bar, Su Bai hadn’t put down his phone once, chatting enthusiastically with his newly acquired sweetheart.

As for Duan Hao, there was even less to say. The moment he arrived, he had barely warmed his seat before disappearing.

However, Lin Cheng knew that if he went wandering around near the bar counter, he would most likely find that scumbag enthusiastically chatting up beautiful women.

“Did you two call me out today just to make me watch you play with your phone?”

His usually unruffled voice contained an extra trace of impatience.

Hearing this, Su Bai finally put down his phone. He pushed up his glasses and smiled.

“What? You’re already getting impatient? That doesn’t sound like you.”

Lin Cheng raised a hand and loosened his tie, his mood unpleasant.

He really had been acting strangely lately.

More precisely, it had started after that livestream the other night.

If he had to describe it, it was probably the feeling that something was about to slip beyond his control, yet he had no idea what it was.

And that was extremely irritating.

“Cut the nonsense. Tell me—what is it?”

Su Bai quickly replied to another message. Then, looking at Lin Cheng, he sighed.

“Nothing’s wrong. I just called you out to help you relax. Don’t you think your life is even more old-fashioned than your grandfather’s? Don’t you have any youthful energy or passion?”

“No. I don’t. If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.”

“Wait, wait.”

During the time it took to say that one sentence, Su Bai had replied to another message. He looked up.

“Ah, what were you saying just now?”

Lin Cheng took a deep breath, suppressing his steadily rising irritation.

“Are women really that interesting?”

Su Bai raised his brows, and a glint of light flashed across his lenses.

“No. They’re far more interesting than you can imagine.”

Then he lowered his head and went back to replying to messages.

At that moment, Lin Cheng really wanted to smash his phone directly into Su Bai’s face.

He took a deep breath to ease his emotions.

It didn’t work.

So he irritably took out his own phone, also wanting to find someone to chat with.

But after searching through his contacts, he discovered that one person was with his girlfriend, two were right here, and there was one brat he didn’t want to contact.

The rest were either family members or work-related contacts.

In the end, his gaze stopped at a certain spot.

He opened it.

A friend request quietly lay there.

Lin Cheng stared at the request, his thumb hovering above the screen.

After a moment, he pressed down.

[You have added Ling Xiaoli. You can now start chatting.]

Lin Cheng then stared motionlessly at the screen.

After a while, he opened the message box.

Hello, who are you?

Deleted.

Hello, I’m Lin Cheng.

Deleted.

Hello, do you know Feng Weiyuan?

Deleted.

After a long time, the phone was ruthlessly tossed onto the table.

The chat box remained completely blank.

The music in the bar was still booming, and the atmosphere was still lively. Yet none of it could improve the phone owner’s mood in the slightest.

“Brother, great! You really are here.”

A soft, delicate female voice suddenly rang out.

Hearing the familiar voice, Su Bai instinctively raised his head.

The person calling him wore a fluffy duckbill cap pulled low over her eyes. Her long hair fell over her shoulders, and she was dressed in a pink padded jacket, looking exceptionally adorable.

Su Bai’s smile faded.

“Why are you here?”

The newcomer was the daughter of his third uncle—his younger cousin, Su Xuan.
