Chapter 34: The Film Crew’s Boxed Meals

7:30 p.m.

Ling Xiaoli sat on the plane, gazing at the deep blue starry sky outside the window. Her heart suddenly felt much more open.

After watching for quite a while, she finally closed her eyes for a short nap.

The scene of the car accident that day had placed enormous pressure on Ling Xiaoli.

Every bit of effort she made now was genuinely a struggle for survival.

It looks like I’ll have to speed up the original plan.

………

That night, Ling Xiaoli and Luo Zhaoyin checked into the hotel the production crew had booked in advance.

Logically speaking, a minor actress like Ling Xiaoli wouldn’t have a room of her own.

However, when she signed the contract, Ling Xiaoli had claimed to be a newcomer to the entertainment industry. She had voluntarily lowered her fee, asking only to observe the filming process from beginning to end.

Hu Li readily agreed. Perhaps feeling that he should return the favor, he had conveniently reserved a room for her.

When they arrived, they didn’t see Feng Weiyuan or Su Xuan.

In short, nothing happened that night.

The next morning, the sun was bright. Unfortunately, although the winter sun was large, it had little warmth.

After everyone in the production crew had breakfast at the hotel, they set off together for the filming location.

Hu Li had never cared much for opening ceremonies.

“I’m very happy to be working with everyone. The filming period is expected to be twenty days, which means we’ll be spending every day together for the next twenty days.

“Some of you know my style, while others don’t, so I’ll say this once—and only once.

“Everything on set will be done according to my instructions. Unless it’s an extremely urgent matter, don’t ask for leave. I may curse at people, but that’s only because there’s a problem with your work. It has nothing to do with personal insults.

“Alright, that’s all. Does everyone understand?”

Everyone answered yes in unison. Even Feng Weiyuan and Su Xuan obediently listened.

Who in the industry didn’t know that Director Hu was an absolute tyrant during filming? Whoever disobeyed him would get cursed out—and cursed out harshly.

Once the lecture ended, filming officially began.

This was Ling Xiaoli’s first time personally visiting a film set, and she was curious about everything.

However, considering Director Hu’s authority, she didn’t dare wander around or ask others questions. Instead, she obediently moved a small stool to the corner and sat down.

After Director Hu’s lecture, most of the actors who had no scenes that day had already left.

Ling Xiaoli also had no scenes, but she didn’t dare leave.

For one thing, she genuinely needed to learn how to act.

For another, she was afraid Su Xuan might cause trouble. Although Su Xuan’s attention had now been drawn to her, what if she still disliked A-Yin?

Who could say for sure?

And then, it had to be said that Feng Weiyuan’s appearance after completing his makeup and styling was truly impressive.

A handsome, spirited young man with bright eyes and lively energy!

He really had the air of a young Yang Jian.

Feng Weiyuan’s acting was also first-rate. He barely needed Director Hu’s guidance. His lines were fluent, his emotions were on point, and most of his shots were completed in a single take.

Ling Xiaoli had heard that Feng Weiyuan even had the nickname “Feng One-Take,” because he often finished scenes in one take.

Looking at the lively young man, she couldn’t help wondering how much hard work he had put in behind the scenes.

After The God Who Split the Mountain was released, the editing material library on the video-barrage site would probably become even richer.

As for Su Xuan, although Ling Xiaoli disliked the green tea woman, she had to admit that Su Xuan’s acting was also in the top-tier category.

She was unquestionably a first-line actress.

Luo Zhaoyin was slightly less impressive: ten out of ten for makeup and styling, seven out of ten for acting.

But the Third Princess didn’t require that much acting ability to begin with, so it was still fine.

Ling Xiaoli watched with great interest for the entire day and even managed to get two boxed meals.

She felt a little embarrassed.

The taste was average. It could only be said to fill her stomach, and it was nowhere near as delicious as the takeout near her home.

Feng Weiyuan and Luo Zhaoyin ate boxed meals with everyone else.

Su Xuan, on the other hand, had her assistant order a separate meal for her. She even told everyone in a delicate voice that she had a weak stomach and couldn’t eat boxed meals.

She even put on a little performance with her assistant, pretending to sneak a taste of a boxed meal before being discovered and scolded.

Su Xuan’s public image had always been excellent, so everyone hurried to comfort her, saying that her health was more important and so on.

Watching this made Ling Xiaoli feel sick to her stomach.

But it also proved that this woman was genuinely terrifying. She had already carved acting into her very bones.

No wonder her acting skills were so exquisite!

Every word and action of hers, every minute and every second, was part of a performance.

I really ought to learn from that kind of dedication!

Looking at Su Xuan obediently accepting everyone’s comfort, Ling Xiaoli only wanted to know one thing:

When Su Xuan was alone, did she also put on performances for herself?
